Applicants Can Begin Scheduling Interviews Now Through The GOES Website
“We are pleased to open a Global Entry Enrollment Center in Richmond for those hoping to join the ranks of trusted traveler,” said Mark J. Laria, Area Port Director for Port of Norfolk. “The new enrollment center provides a convenient, local center for people to complete their application process.”
The Richmond enrollment center at RIC is open Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., however, applicants are encouraged to check the Global Online Enrollment System website for other open appointment times. CBP officers will only interview Global Entry applicants with appointments. The Enrollment center is located at Richmond International Airport, Massey Building, 5707 Huntsman Rd., Suite 104, Richmond, VA 23250.
Global Entry members bypass the traditional CBP inspection lines and use an automated kiosk to complete their admission to the United States. Travelers scan their passport and fingerprints, answer customs declaration questions using the kiosk’s touch screen and proceed with a receipt to the exit—the whole process takes only about one minute.
Currently available at 49 U.S. airports and 15 preclearance locations, Global Entry streamlines the arrival process at airports for trusted travelers. The program has more than 3.4 million members enrolled, and CBP receives approximately 100,000 new applications for Global Entry each month. As an added benefit, Global Entry members are also eligible to participate in the TSA Pre✓™, the Transportation Security Administration’s expedited security program. Visit CBP’s Global Entry website for more information on the Global Entry Program.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation’s borders at and between official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
